LA28 Business Proposal
In my Business Communications class, I worked with a team to develop a proposal for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games centered on fan engagement through food. We explored how the growing popularity of culinary tourism, the success of food-related content during the Paris 2024 Olympics, and Los Angeles’ cultural diversity could create new opportunities for the Games. Our proposal introduced a series of curated food boxes that would connect fans to the Olympic experience while highlighting local businesses and communities throughout Los Angeles. The final deliverables included a professional report, executive summary, and presentation prepared for the LA28 Organizing Committee. Finally, I was one of two final presenters for my group.
Metro Detroit Youth Flag Football Marketing Proposal
In my Principles of Marketing class, I worked with a team to develop a marketing plan to increase youth flag football participation across four counties in Southeast Michigan. Rather than treating the region as a single market, we built separate strategies for Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, and Washtenaw Counties based on differences in demographics, income levels, community values, and attitudes toward youth sports. Our final recommendation combined digital advertising, school partnerships, and community events to create awareness while addressing the specific motivations and concerns of parents in each county. The project gave me experience applying market segmentation and consumer behavior concepts to a real-world sports marketing challenge. Finally, I was one of two final presenters for my group.
Racism in Baseball Project and Report
In my Historical and Sociological Issues in Sport and Fitness class, I collaborated with a team to research the historical and contemporary impacts of racism in Major League Baseball. I helped analyze academic literature, demographic data, and industry reports to examine topics such as the Negro Leagues, declining Black player participation, socioeconomic barriers to youth baseball, and racial disparities in leadership positions. Using critical race theory and intersectionality as guiding frameworks, I contributed to developing our research questions and compiling our findings into a presentation that connected historical discrimination to present-day challenges in representation and opportunity in the sport. Finally, I helped deliver the final presentation.
